Tissue engineering is a complex blend of various disciplines from medicine, biology, physics, and chemistry. The primary objective of this field is to create artificial tissue that has the same functionality as natural body tissues. This is achieved by combining scaffolds, cells, and active biomolecules to replace or repair damaged tissues.
Micro-CT is an advanced imaging technique that utilizes X-rays to create 3D images of small structures with extremely high resolutions. It is a non-destructive tool that enables the preservation of the sample being imaged. This imaging technique is widely acknowledged for its efficiency and applicability in tissue engineering, where it can be used to evaluate properties like porosity, surface-to-volume ratio, connections, and anisotropy in biomaterial scaffolds.
With the aim of providing researchers with a better understanding of micro-CT imaging and its remarkable contributions to tissue engineering, Behin Negareh Co., in collaboration with Abtin Teb Co. and the Pre-clinical Laboratory of Tehran University of Medical Sciences, has organized a free webinar on Micro-CT and its applications in tissue engineering.
